COLOURS

Green
The land on the canvas
Was green and serene
Until the artist took out
The life’s picture
From his room.
It happened in a night,
When the artist thought of
Great mutinies
And took the color
Red, from the shelf.
The survivors ran
Out of the canvas
Shouting: ‘Blood!’
Green pleaded for
Mercy to Red.
Red
Red humiliated green
For letting her rich vegetation
Hanging endlessly inside
The artist’s room.
A long-term wait in life causes death,
As death exploits life for its futility.
The artist had jailed the picture
For so many years
 As if waiting for a
Red ink to draw the death.
And, in that night,
Death came as red
And spread as black.
Black killed red,
And the picture turned into darkness.
The survivors who had escaped
Returned, praying for a ‘dawn’.
Red pleaded for mercy to black.
Black
But with no time to waste,
The artist whitewashed
The entire canvass.
The survivors came out from
The picture
And surrounded it
Exclaiming it as the
Masterpiece of the artist
Since it depicts the meaning
Of life, as anyone ever could.
Life stayed on that canvass
As white as a white could.
White
But white waited for the
Rain and the grain of green
To sprout, endlessly.
